Join us on Saturday 4th July at Hill House Farm courtesy of James and Victoria Hawkins to celebrate ‘Healthy Soils, Healthy Plants, Healthy Livestock’ at our 2026 National Meadows Day which also marks Herefordshire Meadows’ 10th Anniversary.

We will begin by delving into the microscopic world of soil biology using our trinocular soil microscope to reveal the kaleidoscope of life which exists beneath healthy grasslands.

We will then go on a farm walk to explore the fantastic meadows James has been creating over many years, with opportunities to discuss restoration methods, grazing approaches, management tips and more.

Finally we will be treated to some special edition hay flavoured ice cream and hear from producers, Shepherd’s Ice Cream how they ensure the highest quality, tastiest sheep milks by sourcing from a local, regenerative flock grazing on diverse swards.
