How to manage meadows for butterflies - Ewyas Harold

From 11.00 until 2.00

At Ewyas Harold Common

Butterfly Conservation are managing meadows on the edge of Ewyas Harold Common for butterflies and other wildlife. Reserves Officer Lucy Morton will show us a range of common and rare plants that support summer butterflies such as Marbled White and Dark Green Fritillary. We will discover how to manage meadows for butterflies and share management ideas. If the weather is kind we hope to see some butterflies on the wing.

After picnic lunch (food provided, please bring own drink) there will be an option to go onto Ewyas Harold Common to see scrub, grassland and bracken being managed for butterflies, reptiles and other wildlife.

11am Meet at the northern Cwm Hill end of Ewyas Harold Common adjacent to the top cattle grid (GR SO382302). Approach from Abbey Dore off the B4347 at GR SO384306. Limited parking at meeting point so please try to share transport. There will be a 10 minute walk to the reserve from the parking.
